an explanation for myself....

because i really hate excuse makers--they're one of my life's pet peeves. so this is not an excuse...it is merely an explanation, an update if you will:

i had to go offline for about a week (or more? it seems so long since i've been on a computer...well, actually, i've been on a computer, but not for FUN. and if you've never been on a computer not for fun, then you are a lucky person).

anyway, i do have a fun blog to follow--small children beginning school are just too dang amusing to me (and occasionally, so are their parents--i do stress the word "occasionally"). For instance, i was almost vomited on one day. and we have a noodle kid in kindergarten. and a 4th grade girl was terrified to go home one day because she was being babysat by a 4-legged boy.

and i have classroom pictures--i've been addicted to HGTV all summer, and so i did a Total! Room! Makeover! (and got a little nervous that i may have lifted a bit too much, but everything's fine now) (except we think the doctor's due date is way off and she's coming about 3 weeks sooner than their date of Oct. 31...and we now have proof of this that they will need to explain themselves, too) (this is all making me slightly overwhelmed, because i still need to do 3 weeks of sub plans yet haven't done any lesson plans for myself yet) (it all gets explained in the next blog entry; keep up with me.)

i will be visiting blogs this weekend and leaving comments galore. i will be overwhelming in the amount and lengthy nature of my blog comments to you. you will read my blog comments to you and be left in amazement, wondering: "How does Amy DO it?? How does she find the TIME?!" (my secret: Typing Class 101 in 11th grade...the most useful class i ever took in an educational setting, because it's a skill i use to this day, and i can do it at 75 words per minute) (also, my typing class teacher named her own daughter after her: there was Susan Smith, and Susan Smith, Jr.) (which is kind of weird, and yet the feminist part of me admires this and does a mental Girl Power fist in air for all the Susans and Susans Jr. of the world.)

i am so far behind in the online world. but totally up-to-date at work. this is an exact reversal of my life at this time last year. and this is a GOOD thing. for now.

You are doing fine. Looking forward to hearing the small children stories. I can't even get access to my new classroom until summer program is over. Next week. Ack!
