hola, hi, and yo.

My name is Amy, I was a showgirl...with yellow feathers in my hair (and a dress cut down to there).

Actually, only 1 of the above items (name: Amy, showgirl, yellow feathers in hair, and a scandalously cut dress) is really true. Guess which!

This is my first entry to this blog, but not my first blog. I would give a long run-down/history of my blogging background but quite frankly it is boring and it only has a brief hint of a dash of scandal to it. Mostly, I blog about my political viewpoints (which, in general, are poorly informed but socially liberal, with a small dash of fiscal conservativism...and the fiscal conservatism is most likely because I am confused), spirituality (I love Buddha and Jesus, and totally think their philosophies mesh and so, if you were to ask me, I would tell you my spiritual views fall under the category of "Buddhistian") and how I think everyone should best apply spirituality to their daily existences (I am pro being free-spirited, but with several "buts") (translation: do what works best for you), writing and the writing life (I am confused how to fit these into my non-writing and non-writing life), and life in general (all over the place befuddled). Heavy emphasis will be most likely be placed on blog posts dedicated to the life in general category. Sometimes I blog about my favorite celebrities (Clive Owen), music (Damien Rice), and travel dreams (travel dreams: confused and befuddled...due to a lack of funds but hugely ginormous desires).

But mostly? I blog about pretty much anything that's pissing me off lately (I can be hormonal), making me giddy (hormonal!), or really depressing me (hormonal hormonal hormonal). Occasionally I have cute kid stories.

So, let's review: I am writer (for fun, because I certainly don't make any money off it). I have a day job teaching cute, smallish children which I do love very much but would quit in a heartbeat if I could make money from my writing. I combine religions and politics. I daydream way too much. I have a fetish for foreign travel, but have yet to visit a really faraway land (the Bahamas, Central America, and Mexico do not count). I am usually confused and hormonal. And Barry Manilow could talk me into wearing yellow feathers in my hair and a scandalous outfit. Yes, that pretty much sums me up.

Oh, and I do have a MySpace where I have been updating/blogging at rather frequently since this summer. And I have a whole long story about why I have a MySpace and why I've been over there, but like my blogging history story it's pretty boring with very little scandal to go with it. Mostly it's because several family members have accounts there and--you probably don't know this--surprisingly, MySpace is actually quite popular with upcoming writers and those promoting their already-published-material. See? Shocking!

If you would like to visit me there, you can. Here is the link: Amy's MySpace. If you'd like in on the MySpace action with me, set yourself up a MySpace account, send me a friend request with maybe a little message explaining who you are and why I'll never see you on Dateline's "To Catch a Predator," and I'll add you to my circle (currently at 94) of extremely close www friends and writers and family.

Otherwise, just hang out here with me. Because I will cross post blog entries from there to here. Blogging is FUN! (But mostly a great procrastination strategy.)

I have also (foolishly) (in a moment of great confusion) established a Presence on the World Wide Web. It can be found HERE. I am not finished with it yet, but it is viewable.

So thanks for reading and/or stopping by! Comments are encouraged and welcomed though not necessary. But I will add that when I don't get comments, I do feel as if I am talking to myself....not that I have a problem talking to myself. I find talking to myself to be a great soothing strategy. Also, it turns out that I'm right about everything when talking to myself, which is always reassuring. However, it's also nice to interact with other people, even ones who tell me I'm not right.
